Extreme sports require a long and exhausting training. How are parkour and freerun athletes trained? Extreme skills through the prism of training.
Differences between parkour and freerun
When Foucan and Belle did not agree on a new discipline, Sebastian shaped his vision of parkour, which he called freerun. If the meaning of parkour is to rationally move from point A to point B in the shortest possible time, then the essence of freerran is the movement aesthetically pleasing for the freerraner, even at the expense of efficiency. The freeruner has no goal to finish the route, he only enjoys the process of movement. You can very roughly compare parkour with athletics, and freerun - with dancing. In fact, the training of tracers and freeruners is almost the same, the main difference between the two directions is in the goals pursued by athletes. Some do it because they want to be strong, courageous and hardy, and the second - because they want to move beautifully.
Parkour and freerunning training
There are many obstacles in the world of urban jungle. The city is convenient for those who are accustomed to trust the system and transport. But the canvas of the metropolis can become an ornate quest for an extremal who has learned how to run correctly. Not only do free runners run along sidewalks, they can easily overcome obstacles without slowing down or stopping. How to make your run free and become a freerraner, learned Prostoextreme.com.ua
Freerun as an extreme street sport is often confused with parkour. Both freerun and parkour basically carry the ability to overcome obstacles without additional devices, but only thanks to the capabilities of their own bodies. Long jumps, high jumps, somersaults and somersaults - all this is done by both parkers and freeruners.
But there is a significant difference between these sports: parkour is focused on overcoming a specific distance, in which there is a starting and ending point. This distance can be filled with all kinds of tricks, and their correct development is extremely important. The word "parkour" in translation from French means an obstacle course. The second value is “distance”. Therefore, it is extremely important for parkers to correctly overcome the distance, on which there are plenty of obstacles.
Frieran is translated from English as "free run". And if the goal of the parkour is to learn tricks for working them out correctly at a distance, then the goal of the freerraner is to run without stopping. Running is easy, beautiful, spectacular. Frieraner tricks are not necessarily too complicated, it is important that the movements flow smoothly into one another and do not constrain extremals. Parkour can quickly overcome a few meters, and then stop, get ready for a difficult trick, perform it, recover and begin to move on. The main thing in freeriding is the pace - you can’t quickly perform a difficult trick, it’s better to jump slightly, jump over the fence and run on.
Frieran is considered a more elegant and spectacular view of extreme sports than parkour. But the word "parkour" is often on the lips, because parkour itself came to us earlier and all similar sports merge, it would seem, into a comprehensive parkour. In fact, it’s precisely freerun that combines parkour and other types of street extreme, such as acrostrit and tricking.

Acrostrit, by the way, it was freerrains who singled out as a separate sport. Tricks of acro-writers and freeruners are very similar, but acro-writers focus on the technique of performing complex tricks, often without active movements. They train a lot in gyms, practice tricks on mats, and then go out into the streets in ordinary city clothes and show amazed passers-by a high acrobatic level. It is urban clothing that complicates the task - jeans, for example, fetter movement, but all the salt of acrostrit is the maximum naturalness. From the side it should seem like an ordinary passerby suddenly transforms into a professional athlete, after which he straightens his jacket and goes about his business.
Tricking is also an outdoor extreme sport. It also includes elements of acrobatics, but without jumping. For tricking you need a flat platform where the tricker shows his ability to combine elements of breakdance, gymnastics, martial arts and acrobatics. In tricking, unique tricks have been developed that are characteristic only for this type of extreme, but freeruners use them for beauty and entertainment.

The uniqueness of freerun also lies in the fact that it has no frames. Each freerraner develops independently, creates his own style, creativity and, as a result, instinctively demonstrates different types of tricks, without stopping the main line of his movement. Frieran has a beginning, but does not have a clearly defined end, the extreme will stop when he considers it necessary, not by signal, and not at a specifically designated target.
Of course, even if all this succeeds, the most important thing is to overcome the first fear of height and the danger of injury. Psychologically, this barrier will help to overcome the right clothes. A tracksuit and good sneakers with a tread will give the movements lightness, and the future freerraner will have confidence in their abilities.
As in any kind of martial arts, in freerun the basis is the harmony of body and mind. Learning to trust your body is difficult, for this you need to understand what it can do - just try to jump, jump over obstacles, tumbling, climbing onto an obstacle with the help of pulling up. Future freelancers are advised to simultaneously engage in martial arts or athletics in order to get used to the constant overcoming of their fears.

Given the lack of insurance in freerun, you must also learn how to land and fall correctly. All movements are free, light, flying. To achieve this effect, the muscles must be in good shape, but not clamped, to ensure smooth movements and soft touchdowns. This is another piece of advice: regular physical exercises for muscle tone and a stretching warm-up before training in freerun to prepare ligaments and joints.
You can engage in freeriding on your own, with a friend, as part of a team or with a coach. Of course, it is better to start with a coach, it is commonplace for him to show the basic elements, to teach how to fall and to provide a basis for further development. Further, freerraners are advised to take a fancy to the training ground - one specific one, in order to study it well and learn to trust both your body in motion and the objects on the ground. With each workout, the trick will be performed more correctly, and faith in its limitless possibilities will grow along with the height of the jump.
The philosophy of freerran is simple: the city is not a government-owned world filled with dangers, but a unique treadmill with obstacles, overcoming of which does not bother, but only stimulates development.

An important factor that affects the development of acrobatic elements is the ability to overcome fear. Fear is determined by the basic instincts of self-preservation, which help to keep a person in a healthy state. These instincts do not have to try to drown out, because they protect the body. You just need to think through a competent sequence of mastering the exercises, which will deepen the understanding of the body, enhance the feeling of the processes occurring in it and improve the sense of position in space. The gradual expansion of opportunities and improvement of body skills will allow you to feel confident for the development of new elements. Of course, there must be and will always be moments when it is necessary to overcome fear, but these moments must be combined with a solid physical base.
Complex elements are best done together when you can insure a more experienced friend. Simple elements can be mastered and alone. Ideally, an accurate mastery of the elements should be accompanied by the recommendations of the coach, however, parkour is a fairly free discipline and many modern freeriders once mastered everything on their own or in the circle of the same newcomers.
